Daniel C. Perry
Attorney Daniel Perry concertrates his practice in the fields of real estate and estate planning and administration. He graduated from Pomona College and Boston University School of Law, cum laude, where he was Note and Case Editor of the Boston University Law Review. Before forming his own practice, he was the managing partner of Perry Hicks, for over thirty-five years, a firm originally founded by his father, Leonard E. Perry, and Edward Hicks in 1965, and between 2021 and 2024 was associated with the firm Partridge Snow & Hahn in the capacity of senior counsel. Early in his career, Mr. Perry was an associate at the Boston law firm, Foley, Hoag & Eliot.
Mr. Perry has been rated "av" by Martindale Hubble, its highest rating, for over thirty years, and was named as a "Super Lawyer" by that rating service in the field of land use. He has served as Vice Chariman of the Property Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and chaired its land use subcommittee, where he drafted proposed amendments to the Massachusetts Zoning Act sponsored by that Association. He has acted in the past as Town Counsel for the Towns of Mattapoisett, Rochester and Westport, and currently acts as Town Counsel for the Town of Gosnold. He also acted as counsel for several governmental districts, including the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse District, where he was responsible for all legal work in connection with the permitting, financing and construction of the Crapo Hill landfill, a large regional solid waste facility that serves the City of New Bedford and Town of Dartmouth.
Mr. Perry has tried approximately one hundred cases in the land use field, and has argued a number of cases on that subject in the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court. Although he no longer acts as lead trial counsel, he continues to provide advice and counsel in the land use field.
Mr. Perry has an active practice in estate planning, taxation and administration. He is assisted by Katrina Reign, a paralegal with extensive experience in those fields.
